Tajikistan 2006 - 25 & 50 diram magnetic varieties

My friend Wolfgang Schuster recently found some pieces of these two 2006 varieties. Krause lists the brass versions as KM#5.2 and KM#6.2. Excellent site "www.ciscoins.net" already listed these magnetic versions (brass clad steel), which should have their own KM numbers.

Both versions were minted at Saint Petersburg mint, Russia.

France euros 2011 - New engraver's mark

The 2011 mark is of Yves Sampo, the new head of the engraving workshop. Titled 'Fleurette d'atelier,' it illustrates the teamwork spirit of the engraving workshop. It depicts a pentagon containing the letters 'AG,' which stand for Atelier de Gravure (engraving workshop) and 'MP,' standing for Monnaie de Paris et Pessac. Sampo's initials appear on either side of these letters.

South Sudan new coins in september

The Governor of the Central Bank of South Sudan, Kornelio Koryom, said that the South Sudan pound coins will come into circulation this month.

The Governor told in a press conference, that the coins will be in the denominations of 1, 5, 25 and 50 piastres. He also also explained that all old Sudanese Pounds will be kept in the bank stores, pending a political agreement on currency exchange between Khartoum and Juba.
